We’ve been designing AI-free on ‘all the softwares’ for over 25 years. Our goal is to empower you. So we work with user-friendly software systems that allow us to share any projects we create for you.
This gives you the option to make your own updates after we deliver your final creative.
No gatekeeping the creative: you’ll be able to do your own blog posts, branded social media designs, upload new images, tweak staff bios, change color pallets and more.*
To help you play in the sandbox without ‘messing it up’, we offer free platform training and tech support after each final project delivery. You’ve got this (literally).
* If you don’t have time, no worries — we’ve got your back with in-house writing and design services.

Examples of user-friendly software we like for sharing final projects includes Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, Trunk Inventory, Canva (incl. video), Word, Scrivener, and Google Suite.
We also LOVE migrating WordPress sites to any of the above website platforms, because we all know WP is not user-friendly.
We’re also forever testing new toys — definitely let us know if you have another fave software platform and we’ll dive in!

Burly Mermaid does not currently use AI-powered tools, fun as they may be.
We’ve tested several options, and at this point we don’t need them in our work flows.
Most importantly, AI’s environmental impacts from its data centers are just too high, and the unregulated dangers too great for our society and fellow species.
Once (maybe?) AI becomes genuinely safe to use, we may reconsider. We will update that policy here on our website. But we’re not holding our breath, either. (Mer-joke.)

We create branding and logos with your vision front and center, offering a broad range of options. Then based on your feedback, we fine-tune for maximum impact and joy. Goal: for you to be seriously geeked about your new branding, logo included.

Our founder, Ella Swift Redding, has been a professional writer and editor for over 20 years. Newspapers, blogs, newsletters, PR, press releases, scripts and screenplays (including for Rob Reiner), freelance journalism and non-profit brochures. She specializes in writing outstanding original content in the voice of her clients, bringing their vision and unique message to life.
